Going beyond the standard summer classroom model, Walker’s 2025 All For Girls Summer Academy encourages exploration, fun, and learning for the sake of learning!
Athletics
walker’s field hockey clinic
June 23-26, 2025
For girls entering 3rd-6th grades
Join us as we learn and build on the game of field hockey. Over the course of the four-day session, participants will learn game fundamentals, stick handling, ball control, and passing and shooting skills. Whether this is your first time picking up a stick or you’re a return player, you will come away with many valuable new skills to bring back to your team. Our staff have played field hockey at the Intercollegiate Division I, II, and III levels as well as the international level. They are skilled, fun, and energetic to work with.
Wildcat Field Hockey Camp
August 7-10, 2025
For girls entering 7th-12th grades
The Wildcat Field Hockey Camp is designed to develop field hockey athletes by teaching innovative stick work skills, shooting techniques, defensive strategies, and team tactics. Our priority is to establish the best base for each athlete to enhance their field hockey game.
Equestrian
Summer Riding Experience
The Ethel Walker School’s Summer Riding Experience is an extension of the School’s renowned equestrian program. The camp consists of daily riding sessions complemented with activities that include horse care, working with farriers and veterinarians, equine science, and general equestrian knowledge.

Horizons at The Ethel Walker School
Horizons at The Ethel Walker School is the nation’s first all-girls Horizons program, serving under-served students in Pre-K through 8th grade who attend Hartford public schools. Horizons creates the conditions, connections, and community that enable every girl who attends to gain the skills, confidence, and motivation to overcome the opportunity gap and realize her potential.
We’re in this for the long term. When a girl enters the program in Pre-K, we make a 10-year commitment to prepare her to enter high school with the skills, knowledge, and determination she’ll need to graduate. Horizons at The Ethel Walker School builds brighter futures for girls from under-served families by creating year-round academic, artistic, and athletic opportunities, nurturing potential, and inspiring individual dreams in a safe and supportive community.
- Provides a six-week, full-day educational enrichment summer session for Hartford public school students with a range of academic abilities.
- Blends exceptional academics with cultural enrichment, social-emotional learning, and swimming instruction.
