Walker’s and Miss Hall’s went to five sets on Saturday, with Walker’s coming out on top (25-10, 20-25, 25-14, 16-25, 15-10). Ally Hussey ’23 started the match with a 7-point service run, giving Walker’s a good lead. Holiday Awe ’22, playing all the way around as an outside, and Jordan Smith ’22, as a middle, worked hard at the net securing several points from blocking. In the second set Walker’s lost Awe ’22 to an injury at the net but pulled together to finish the set and get back in it for the third. Akira Hippolyte ’22 pushed Walker’s forward in the third set with a 7-point service run and EWS won with an 11-point lead. Walker’s struggled to keep the lead in the fourth, falling behind nine points. The fifth and final set is where Walker’s showed their true strength and came together to win 15-10, with excellent communication and another several-point service run from Hussey ’23.
