Game Summary

In 40 degree rain, Walker’s braved the weather and traveled to Kent for their first Saturday game of the year. Walker’s began the game with energy and enthusiasm, despite the weather. Jenna Hamel ’25 secured the opening draw control, earning Walker’s possession. Allison Hayes ’25 scored the opening goal of the game. Early on, the game proved to be a back and forth contest with forced turnovers and errors on both sides. Walker’s defensive communication was effective against Kent’s offensive drives in the opening minutes. While Walker’s had the momentum in the first half, Kent began to fight back as the first half came to a close. With a 2-2 game with 1 minute left in the half, Kent scored with 0:49 left to take the lead. In the second half, Kent was able to take control offensively and displayed their offensive strength. Ultimately, Kent was able to capitalize on draw controls and transition goals in the final quarter to win the game. Shoutout to Walker’s Gigi Pena ’26 for scoring her first goal!
