Ethel Walker fell to the Rectory School’s team on Tuesday, April 22nd in a close game with a final score of 6-8. The first quarter was tough as Walker’s offense got their bearings, but Inaya A-R. ‘29 played some excellent defense and had some great recoveries. Amelia Hamel ‘28 scored the first goal for Walker’s in the first quarter. Emma Mazur ‘27 scored in the second quarter. Ashley Smith ‘28 and newcomer Maddie Hemmerich ‘27 made great plays and penalty shots in the third and fourth quarters. After adjusting for Rectory’s offense, Walker’s had a major comeback, with team captain Gianna Harris ‘27 scoring three goals in the second half, including one in the final minute of the game. Special shoutout to goalie Rebecca Dai ‘27 for blocking over 50% of the shots on goal, including some difficult penalty shots.
