Game Summary
Walker’s played at Taft in Watertown on a chilly, rainy day on Wednesday. Despite the loss, Walker’s had several positive results individually, setting and reaching some team goals as well. Goalie Ella S. ’24 started in the cage for the Wildcats and recorded 15 saves in the 20-minute period while allowing in four. Walker’s held Taft scoreless for the first 17 minutes of the half before Taft was able to capitalize in the 7 v. 7 play with quick back-to-back goals in the remaining three minutes. The goals against in the second half were again all within minutes, this time against Abby C. ’24. Walker’s had offensive moments with sporadic breakaways by Wylma N. ’24 and Riley M. ’24 who worked on her lifts throughout the game. Cathy F. ’24 worked hard throughout the game as a left midfielder, focusing on her hit. Walker’s was able to tally three offensive corners in the contest. Katie O. ’27 hustled as the center midfielder in the first half and center defender in the second. Addy H.’ 25 proved her ability with block tackles. Walker’s will play next at Porter’s’ on Saturday at 3:30 in another 7 v. 7.
