What do you find to be the most rewarding part of being on the Alumnae Board?

I always feel so empowered when I’m back on campus and brainstorming with my fellow board members. It’s such a magical feeling being back on campus and getting to share stories with each other all while continuing to share our love with the school and future alum.

What is your fondest memory or tradition from your time at Walker’s?

I loved walking back from the barn with my friends to Cluett.

Who was your favorite teacher? Why?

Oh this is hard, I had many! Mr Groff was my advisor and he was awesome. I love Mrs. Mahoney – I actually dedicated my undergraduate thesis to her and sent her a copy while I was in college.

What was your favorite class you took while at Walker’s?

Mr. Deed’s class- I forget what it was called but I decided I wanted to go into Econ and work on Wall Street after watching a documentary he showed the class called Inside Job (also quoted this documentary in my thesis).

How did attending Walker’s impact your path and where you are now?

It made me so much more confident and sure of myself. It gave me the opportunity to be a leader and discover that I wanted to continue being a leader in other aspects of my life. I wish I could come back and be a student again!

What is one piece of advice you would give to a graduating Walker’s student?

Life does not go in a straight line; even though you may stress about what is next, try to remember you are where you’re supposed to be. I truly believe everything happens for a reason. Cherish your sisters from Walker’s so you have real sisterhood as you continue dealing with the normal ups and downs of life.

What are some fun facts about you?

I ride horses, I live in Manhattan with my roommate who I met at Walker’s, and my younger brother went to Avon [Old Farms] while I was at Walker’s and my youngest brother is currently a senior at Berkshire (boarding school family!).
