Head of School Meera Viswanathan recently had an opportunity to do an extended interview with the Stanford University radio station KZSU for their Modern Tek News program about education in the 21st Century and how she, faculty and staff mentor girls at Walker’s to foster an environment of leadership. She also shared her thoughts on the role that parents play in their daughters’ education and how joy and happiness are critical factors in learning.
Meera comments on the challenge of improving education for everyone and ends the interview with a question to U.S. Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos where she asks Ms. DeVos to have a conversation about how some of Meera’s ideas could be put into action.
You can listen to the recording at www.modernteknews.com/Education.html.
Earlier last year, Meera also had an opportunity to talk with WNPR’s Lucy Napilthanchil on her show, “Where We Live,” on “The Value of Single-Sex Learning.” If you didn’t get a chance to listen, please visit wnpr.org/post/ethel-walkers-meera-viswanathan-value-single-sex-learning.
