vs. The Master's School

The team played a great game today against a co-ed Master’s team. Walker’s started strong, demonstrating field awareness, spacing, and playing with energy. Walker’s possessed the ball the majority of the opening minutes, testing the Master’s defense. About 15 minutes into the game, center midfielder Avalon found the back of the net, tucking the ball in the top right corner. After the goal Master’s made a couple of subs, gaining momentum and possession for their team. Our defense was led by Gabby, Gigi, and Addie who did well against some strong Master’s forwards.

In the second half Master’s came out strong, finding Walker’s on their heels with some plays up the sidelines, but were ultimately unable to find success on crosses. The half continued with a solid back and forth battle, until Master’s earned a penalty kick off of a foul in the box. With 10 minutes left and a scoreline of 1-0, Walker’s goalkeeper and captain Maya stepped up and made a diving save to keep Walker’s in the lead. This score held until the final whistle, Walker’s winning their first home game of the season!

We have a quick turnaround this week, as the team hosts Rectory on Thursday,
