On Wednesday, Walker’s pushed another match to five sets in one of the best comebacks seen in high school volleyball. Walker’s momentum showed through each set against Berkshire School up until the fifth (15-25, 20-25, 25-21, 25-15, 7-15). Walker’s got scrappy in this match, hustling and hitting the floor in every set. Senior captain Holiday Awe played all around as an outside hitter, giving Walker’s a consistent defensive and offensive force. She also had several service runs and kept the energy on the court high. Another senior captain Rori Arnold had service runs in the first, third, and fourth sets. Jordan Smith ’22 played up at the net, getting Walker’s multiple points from her enthusiastic blocking, tipping, and hitting. Akira Hippolyte ’22 consistently found open spots on the court and hit or pushed around Berkshire’s blocks to get there. Coaches Rubin and Ness are proud of how the team played and hope to see that on-court energy continue on Saturday against Canterbury.
